US Art Museum to Undergo Renovation

The Baltimore Museum of Art in Maryland, US, has unveiled designs for its renovation, which is expected to begin next year.

The architect for the $24m renovation will be selected this year.

The proposed work includes renovating galleries, and improving visitor amenities and building infrastructure.

New galleries and a black box space will be added, and the east wing lobby will be revamped.

Other features include the addition of two new roofs, an improved climate control system and a 4,000ft² space above the galleries.

Construction is expected to be complete in 2014.
