Hyder Consulting and BDP Architects have been selected by Network Rail to redesign Northampton Castle railway station in Northamptonshire, UK.
West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) said the redevelopment includes a new station building, a multi-storey car park, a new footbridge and approach roads.
Commercial spaces will be built surrounding the station in the later phases of the scheme.
Northamptonshire County Council has pledged £350,000 ($523,495) towards the project with WNDC contributing £900,000 ($1.3m).
The outline design phase is due to be completed by the end of the year, according to BBC News.
