UK-based practice Arup Associates has won a prize in a design competition.

The British Land and the City of London's "insect hotel" contest planned to build sustainable insect hotels to be installed in London parks.

Beevarian Antsel and Gretel Chalet at Cleary Garden won the People's Favourite Award, having been designed by chartered accountant Lynette Lackey and banker Ingeborg Warschke.

Arup's winning design and other shortlisted designs by Ortulos Architects, developers Brookfield and landscape designers Fisher Tomlin will be on permanent display.
