UK-based Caruso St John Architects has received approval to revamp the Tate Britain gallery in London, UK.

Westminster City Council also approved plans for a new central staircase in the main rotunda, which will feature translucent glass balustrades.

Work will involve refurbishment of the south-eastern galleries, building a new schools' area, a cafe on the lower level and an area for members on the first floor.
