A design competition for a proposed mixed-use scheme in Whitehaven, UK, has been launched by Britain's Energy Coast West Cumbria and Magnus Homes. The competition for the £10m ($15m) luxury apartment and office development will be organised by the Royal Institute of British Architects

A design competition for a proposed mixed-use scheme in Whitehaven, UK, has been launched by Britain's Energy Coast West Cumbria and Magnus Homes.

The competition for the £10m ($15m) luxury apartment and office development will be organised by the Royal Institute of British Architects with the support of Places Matter.

The harbourside development is a key element of Britain's Energy Coast regeneration initiative.

The competition is open internationally to architect-led design teams, as well as architectural students.
