Work Starts on Manchester Co-Op Headquarters

Construction has begun on new headquarters for the Co-Operative Group in Manchester, UK, following the completion of ground works by contractors BAM. Designed by 3DReid architects, the 325,000ft² scheme is the first phase of the wider master plan for the 20-acre site.

Designed by 3DReid architects, the 325,000ft² scheme is the first phase of the wider master plan for the 20-acre site.

The 15-storey structure, which features curved façades, will house a new office, retail, residential and leisure facilities. It is scheduled to open in 2012.

The sustainable office design project meets the requirements for a BREEAM outstanding rating, according to urbanrealm.co.uk.
