Work on the new art and design studios for Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK will begin next year. Fielden Clegg Bradley Architects has already been appointed to design the six-storey building worth £25m ($39.8m). The scheme will feature a rooftop exhibition area,

Work on the new art and design studios for Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK will begin next year.

Fielden Clegg Bradley Architects has already been appointed to design the six-storey building worth £25m ($39.8m).

The scheme will feature a rooftop exhibition area, and design and media labs.

The project will also include refurbishment of the 30,000ft² Chatham Building and the construction of 26,000ft² of studio space at All Saints.

The project is being funded by the university and will be complete in 2012, according to menmedia.co.uk.
