UK-based architectural practice Matthew Springett Associates has received planning consent for the first phase of the largest aviary in the world in Lincolnshire, UK.

The new 700m² tropical house will host the aviary’s rainforest experience, with ponds and small animal enclosures linked to an indoor education centre.

The proposed scheme at the 2.7ha National Parrot Sanctuary will be in the shape of a poly-tunnel with a three-arched roof and timber-clad ground floor.

The facility is expected to complete next year, according to bdonline.co.uk.
