Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council in the UK is to build a new digital and creative centre in Redcar on the site of the derelict Palace Theatre.

As part of the council's plan to redevelop the seafront area of the town, the centre will include 32 managed offices, along with workshops, studios and communal spaces.

The 35,000ft² building will feature a striking 80ft vertical pier, strengthened flood defences and a new promenade, according to darlingtonandstocktontimes.co.uk.

Cabinetmember for Culture, Leisure and Tourism Sheelagh Clarke said that the Hub was an integral part of the seafront scheme, designed to help attract more visitors to the town as well as embrace emerging new industries in the area.
