Foster + Partners has been awarded a contract to design a new corporate headquarters for the Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Design of the energy-efficient building in the neighbourhood of Parque Patricios includes an inter-connected campus of villages, which are unified by a flowing roof canopy.
Also included in the plan is a full-height atrium that directs circulation into four tiers of terraced office spaces and light-filled floor plates based on an 8m² planning grid.
In addition, the design incorporates various sustainable features for LEED Silver accreditation including using the exposed thermal mass of concrete soffits with chilled beams for cooling; and reducing energy demands through shaded façades and natural ventilation.
UK-based architectural firm will carry out the construction of the building in cooperation with the construction company CRIBA SA and local architect BBRCH-Minond.
