The newly expanded student recreation centre at the University of Arizona (UA) in the US has received LEED Platinum certification for the incorporation of sustainable measures.

The 53,000ft² facility was delivered by Sasaki and M3 Engineering & Technology, Sundt Construction and the UA.

The scheme incorporates various water and energy-efficient features and utilises sustainable recycled materials and resources during construction.

The sustainable building features a series of courtyards volleyball courts, shaded covered walkways and large outdoor spaces.
