Plans have been submitted to the local council for the redevelopment of Walthamstow Central station in London, UK.

The £15m ($23m) redevelopment plan, to be delivered by developers Solum Regeneration, has been submitted to Waltham Forest Council.

The proposals include creating a landmark station with public space and improved station access, 85 new homes, five new shops and an 88-bed hotel.

Construction could begin next year, if plans are approved, according to guardian-series.co.uk.

The plans are part of a £500m ($772.4m) scheme to develop seven train stations in London.
