HOK Architects has been selected to design the US Department of State's new office annexe in Moscow, Russia.

The $192m multistorey building will be built in phases at an existing US Embassy compound.

The 15,000m² building will accommodate a new consular section and 300 desks, and aims to achieve LEED Silver rating.

Ground-breaking on the project will begin in 2012 and it is estimated that construction will be complete by 2015.
