The practice will unveil the drawings for the $634m scheme in 2012 while construction will begin in 2013.

The 20-storey building will offer more space for all court functions and will feature 71 courtrooms equipped with safety features.

The 750,000ft² scheme will be funded by a $5bn federal bond backed by higher court fines and charges, according to signonsandiego.com.
