The contractor for the new Hands-On Children's Museum on East Bay in the US will soon be selected by the Olympia City Council, US.
US-based Pease Construction, the lowest bidder for the project, is expected to win the contract.
The museum will be housed on a 14-acre site and will feature about 27,000ft² of indoor space including galleries and an artist studio.
About 30,000ft² of outdoor exhibit space is set to open in May 2011, which includes a 130ft water feature.
The project received $7.9m in Public Facilities District funding and $1m in lodging tax revenue, while the museum raised $4.7m.
Work on the $18.5m project is expected to begin by October this year and will be complete by next April, according to the News Tribune.
