Florida Atlantic University is seeking funding approval for plans to build a 30,000-seat football stadium on the Boca Raton campus in the US.
The Florida board of governors will decide this week whether or not to approve the planned $70m stadium.
The proposed stadium is part of the Innovation Village project being built on the north side of the campus that includes an alumni centre, student housing and recreation, and a wellness centre.
The university has already provided $20m while $45m will be borrowed from Regents Bank.
Construction work could begin soon, if the project secures funding approval. The stadium is scheduled to be ready by next year, according to sun-sentinel.com.
