The Ghanaian Government has taken measures to introduce standards for architectural designs and building codes in the nation.

The Ghanaian Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing plans to enforce revised building regulations to improve performance of the nation's architects, engineers and quantity surveyors.

The new regulations for the building and construction industry are expected to eliminate frequent fire hazards.

The ministry also urged the industry to employ international best practices and to organise regular training programmes.
