The Maryhill Museum of Art in Washington, US, has unveiled expansion plans, which will involve the construction of a new 2,369m² wing.
The $10m Mary and Bruce Stevenson Wing will be designed by US-based GBD Architects.
Maryhill has so far raised $8m from cash gifts, bequests and pledges.
The new wing will feature an art education centre, a centralised storage space, an outdoor plaza and a new cafe.
The new extension will employ energy and water-efficient strategies during construction, according to Puget Sound Business Journal.
Scheduled to be complete by March 2012, the project secured funding from private and public donors.
