US Art Museum to Close for Expansion

The Frederick R Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota in the US is to close for a year, to make way for expansion work at the facility. The original museum was designed by architect Frank Gehry, who is also working on the expansion to complete his original design. <

The design will add 752m² for four galleries, doubling the size of the museum.

The project has secured $14.1m, mostly in pledges, according to twincities.com.
