The new $85m Superior and District Court in Massachusetts, US, has been opened.
The 14,307m² facility incorporates energy-efficient and sustainable design principles.
The building is designed to achieve US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
The facility is expected to achieve at least 28% energy cost savings and 20% water savings.
The new courthouse includes nine courtrooms, the Superior Court, the District Court, a jury pool, detention area, district attorney’s office and law library.
Construction on the project began in 2007, according to southcoasttoday.com.
