Bam Construction, an unit under the Dutch Royal Bam Group, has won a contract to build a new, state-of-the-art music, events and conference centre at Hull, UK.
The contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process and entitles the company for construction of the centre on the site behind Princes Quay shopping centre, where new retail facilities and a hotel are expected to be developed.
Hull City Council expects to invest around £36.2m for the new development, for which a revised planning application is to be submitted to city's planning committee in the following week.
Under the contract, Bam will immediately be starting preliminary, pre-construction services for Stage 1 of the project.
The project will also include redevelopment and upgrades to the adjacent Osborne Street car park.
Approval from the planning committee is expected to be received in February 2016, following which the development is expected to start later in the year. Completion of the project is expected in early 2018.
The developer has already set up First Direct Arena in Leeds and One Angel Square in Manchester.
BAM construction director Jason Pink said: "BAM's track record in the city of Hull has been outstanding and our appointment to build this prestigious arena is a testimony to years of successful work in many sectors here.
"Once again, BAM is appointed to deliver a special and complex building where the quality of our partnership with the client, our understanding of the whole lifecycle of a building, and our non-confrontational style and technical excellence will be exactly the right way to make a one-off building like this into a reality."
