Barwa Real Estate unveils Golf City project in Qatar

Barwa Real Estate has unveiled the $4.9bn Lusail Golf Residential Development project in Qatar.

Barwa Real Estate has unveiled the $4.9bn Lusail Golf Residential Development project in Qatar.

The project, located within the coastal Lusail City north of the capital Doha, will include 4,000 residential units built around a golf course.

Of the 3.5 million square metres available for the project, 31% of the area will be dedicated for residential development while 69% of the area will be dedicated for sports facilities and green areas.

The project features 28% public areas and gardens, 12% open spaces that include pedestrian paths, roads and utilities, and 2% community amenities, such as, schools, mosques, a hotel, and a health clinic.

Out of the space for sport and leisure facilities, 26% is allocated to sports amenities which include a golf course, golf club and tennis facilities.

The development is divided into three distinct zones: Lusail Gharb, Souq Lusail, and Lusail Sharq.

Lusail Gharb will be an upmarket zone where the developers will build an 18-hole golf course, club and tennis centre.

The Souq Lusail development will include retail and lifestyle services, sports, and residential clubs, a mosque and schools, said the developers.

Lusail Sharq will be a family-orientated development that will feature green spaces and a six-hole academy golf course, and will be accessible to schools, the village centre and other facilities.

The project will also house a retail village and a boutique 80-room hotel.

The residential development will include villas and townhouses that will offer views of the main boulevard and golf course, and the buildings will be designed with a mix of Arabian, Mediterranean and contemporary architectural influences.

The residences also feature Norman Estates, which are luxury golf villas, in addition to Mediterranean-style apartments and The Central Corridor Boulevard – an exclusive residential and retail complex.

The project is anticipated to open in around five years.
