Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company has opened the Alqasr Mall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Alqasr Mall will feature 90,000m² of shop space, with multi-level department stores and a hypermarket on the ground floor.
The mall will also feature an indoor fun park, which is claimed to be the largest in Riyadh.
Alqasr Mall’s external facade has been designed to be used at night as a moving hoarding and is 800m long.
The mall is equipped with a building management system that will use over 100,000 electronic sensors to control, monitor and optimise the functioning of the building’s mechanical and electrical systems.
The mall is part of the 800,000m² Al Qasr project, which will feature residential villas and apartments, parks, offices, schools, mosques, government offices, banks, shops and hospitals.
Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development chairman Yousef Al Shalash said Alqasr Mall represents a distinction between commercial centres in the city of Riyadh and ‘a unique leap in the world of shopping and entertainment’.
"The Alqasr Mall is an outlet mall, entertainment important and the center of attraction for the residents of Al Qasr residential and surrounding areas, home to nearly one million people, experiencing a shortage evident in commercial centers excellence," Al Shalash said.
