Moscow Regional State Expertise in Russia has approved the design of Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat for the new 32,000m² Sberbank Corporate University.
In 2010, Erick van Egeraat won the international competition to design the new corporate university.
Planned to be built near the Novorizhkoye highway west of Moscow, the university will be flanked by woods on its southern side and the Istra River on the northern side.
The university will offer training for the bank’s employees and feature education and conference spaces, dormitories, guest teacher quarters, teacher housing, a club building and sports facilities.
During construction, sustainable design elements and technologies will be incorporated into the new complex.
Large spaces will offer the building a campus like setting, comfortable public spaces and facilitate individual interaction with the natural surroundings.
All building elements except the teachers’ housing are linked with a climate-controlled colonnade that will be aligned with recreational, bar and relaxation functions, serving as the backbone of the entire complex.
The campus layout allows for many elements to be built at the same time.
Erick van Egeraat said that the Sberbank University campus incorporates the ambition of an organisation to be transparent.
