Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has secured an AED480m ($130m) contract from Dubai International Real Estate for the construction of package number seven of the Jewel of the Creek development in Port Saeed, Dubai, UAE.
Under the contract, HLG will construct and complete the substructure works for four basement levels and ground floor slabs on the waterside site between Al Maktoum Bridge, Baniyas Road and the Floating Bridge.
The scope of HLG’s work includes embedded MEP works (first fix), earthworks, re-anchoring of diaphragm walls, pile cutting and trimming, waterproofing works and reinforced concrete works.
The contract forms part of the AED3bn ($816m) Jewel of the Creek waterside development, which will be built on an area spanning 123,955m².
Upon completion, the Jewel of the Creek project will be a multi-use development comprising four and five-star hotels, furnished service apartments, a convention centre, a ballroom, office buildings, residential buildings, a marina and landscaping.
The project and its on-site infrastructure has been designed by a Kieferle & Partner and Kling Consult joint venture.
HLG CEO and managing director Laurie Voyer said: "This award of the project demonstrates that HLG has an established reputation and is a preferred contractor by major clients in the Dubai market."
Construction works are scheduled to be completed in August 2013.
