ISG has secured a contract to build a hotel at the site of the new Exhibition Centre Liverpool development in the UK.
The latest deal increases the value of construction projects that ISG is developing at the site to more than £50m.
ISG will construct the hotel at the north end of the new three-hall exhibition venue, which is situated at ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena.
Architects Denton Corker Marshall has created a rectangular tube design for the new concrete frame hotel.
The hotel will house six floors of guest accommodation, a guest gym and a double-height atrium at its lower levels.
The hotel will feature over 200 rooms, ground floor reception, bar and restaurant with meeting space at first floor level.
ISG will construct the hotel and exhibition centre concurrently, with both buildings due to open in 2015.
The steel-framed Exhibition Centre Liverpool building will more than double the amount of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225m² and include a public atrium, food and beverage outlets, meeting rooms and a business centre.
The three equal-sized halls will be divided by movable walls, making the centre capable of hosting major international exhibitions, conventions, concerts and sporting events.
ISG construction business managing director Alan McCarthy-Wyper said that one of the most important aspects of the construction scheme is the company’s ability to boost the local economy and provide skills and training legacy within the local community.
"Working with a host of delivery partners, we are actively looking to engage with the region’s very best suppliers and construction specialists, as well as providing a range of apprentice and training opportunities for individuals interesting in forging a career within the industry," McCarthy-Wyper said.
