Interior Services Group (ISG) has secured a £50m contract from Ashfield Land to construct a retail and leisure development in Swindon, UK
ISG beat off competition from its rivals Kier, McLaren, Vinci and Wates to secure the contract.
The Regent Circus scheme will feature a 52,000ft² Morrisons superstore, eight restaurants and bars, a six-screen digital Cineworld multiplex cinema and a 450-space car park.
The multiplex cinema, dubbed Cineworld Swindon Regent Circus, will have seating capacity for around 800 people and is expected to open in 2014.
Restaurant chains Ask, Nando’s and Prezzo have already leased units at the complex.
The development will be situated on the site of a former demolished college building, which was acquired by Ashfield Land in 2006.
Ashfield Land managing director Andrew Fisher said demolition and site clearance is now complete and the construction of Regent Circus mixed-use development will get underway in May.
"With the support of major companies such as Morrisons and Cineworld our significant investment will result in the regeneration of what was a dilapidated area of the town centre and promises to create hundreds of jobs for local people," Fisher said.
Upton McGougan is serving as the mechanical and electrical consultant on the project.
