Knight Dragon Developments has selected UK-based construction company Kier Group to design and build the new £50m residential tower on Greenwich Peninsular in London.
Under the contract, Kier will design and build the 24-storey tower featuring 224 luxury apartments arranged in four riverside blocks.
Kier pre-construction director Chris Dyer said: "It will be a critical regeneration project for London, providing much-needed high-quality housing, alongside leisure, retail and commercial space, to create a vibrant new district for the city.
"This particular scheme is also a testament to our skills in high-rise development, which we believe will prove important in the London market as we witness a surge in tower schemes.
"With over 200 projects currently in planning in the city, this will undoubtedly be a growth market."
The development is part of a major regeneration scheme at Greenwich Peninsula, under which more than 160 acres of the site will be used to develop residential, business and leisure space.
Knight Dragon will develop more than 60 plots at the site by 2039, whereas the overall scheme will provide over 10,000 new homes for around 23,000 residents.
Knight Dragon developments project management head Paul Symons said: "This contract award marks yet another milestone in the landmark Greenwich Peninsula scheme.
"We are confident that Kier has the right expertise to deliver our overall vision, alongside our other contractors, and we are looking forward to working with them all collaboratively to deliver the forthcoming plots on the development."
