Aviva Investors has appointed McLaren Construction as the chief contractor for £30m office redevelopment project in the town of Uxbridge in west London, UK.
The project has been designed by TP Bennett and will deliver 210,888ft² of prime office space spread over four storeys.
The developer will also responsible for constructing four passenger lifts and underground parking for 171 vehicles as parts of the project, along with accessible car parking bays, charging for electric vehicles, 116 cycle bars and associated shower / locker facilities.
McLaren will need to strip the existing facades back to the concrete frame for the reconstruction project, and demolish the central core area of the building.
A new entrance and reception area are also to be built, which is expected to serve as the office development's chief focal point.
Besides strengthening the existing concrete frame of the building, the project will also involve construction of additional accommodation at roof level, which will raise its floor area to 125,950ft².
Under the contract, McLaren will also be responsible for re-cladding the structure with a new brick cladding system, along with extensive areas of curtain walling and structural glazing.
The building will also have a total replacement of the construction services, and is expected to have a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, for which it will be equipped with green renewable technologies and a green roof.
McLaren Construction - South regional managing director David Murphy said: "We are delighted to be working with Aviva Investors again to deliver this prestigious redevelopment in the heart of Uxbridge.
