Nordic Choice Hotels (NCC) has secured a contract to construct a hotel in Oslo, Norway, which will be developed by Union Property Capital.
The Karl Johans gate 12 project will be implemented in the form of an NCC Partnering contract, worth Skr250m.
NCC will operate the hotel, which will feature 181 rooms, a café bar and a large restaurant.
The construction and refurbishment project includes a property at Kirkegata 34 and large parts of the property at Karl Johans gate 12.
The two buildings, which date back to the 1800s, will be joined together.
The completed project will have a gross floor area of 9,600m² over eight storeys.
NCC said that it has worked with builders, a building developer, project managers and the tenant over a three-month design phase.
The firm noted that this design work has allowed the project to be further developed and produced a joint understanding of the requirements, challenges and solutions.
Construction will comply with the Norwegian building standard TEK 10, based on energy-efficiency class C.
NCC construction president in Norway Håkon Tjomsland said this is the second hotel that the company will build in central Oslo in a short period of time.
"It demonstrates our competitiveness when it comes to advanced building and refurbishment projects," added Tjomsland.
