The UAE Government has approved the construction of a new ultra-luxury resort near the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.
Designed by Broadway Malyan on behalf of Jumeirah Group, the new project will serve as the fifth phase of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel expansion programme.
The design project was carried out by expert designers from Abu Dhabi, Lisbon and Portugal.
The new resort will include 350 hotel rooms, private beaches and recreational marine facilities such as spas, health clubs, elevated tennis courts, a sports complex and a range of ocean-facing retail, food and beverage outlets.
In addition, the new resort will expand the existing yacht marina by doubling its size and offering new leisure facilities.
The expansion project is part of UAE vice-president and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision to attract 20 million tourists to the country by 2020, and make the Emirates the top tourism destination across the world.
The project is expected to be completed in 2018.
Jumeirah Beach Hotel is one of 22 hotels operated by Jumeirah Group across ten countries.
Owned by Dubai Holding, Jumeirah Group also plans to add ten more hotels to its portfolio in Dubai in the next few years.
