US-based Parsons has secured a contract from TECOM Investments to manage the entire Dubai Design District (D3) project.
Located next to the Dubai Business Bay area, the D3 project covers an area of approximately 22 million ft² that will house ten buildings currently under construction.
Under the deal, Parson will be responsible for the infrastructure, road and bridge design, and construction activities at the site.
Parsons MEA president Gary Adams said: "Dubai's luxury, design and fashion sectors are poised for dramatic growth and Parsons is eager to successfully deliver the project and support Dubai Holding in achieving its vision."
Additionally, the project will feature event venues, a 1.8km waterfront promenade, academic institutions, distinct public spaces, street furniture, shaded walkways, business zones with capacity for more than 10,000 workers and in excess of 2.5 million ft² of space for retail stores.
The project will also feature four-star and boutique hotels and furnished apartments with around 4,000 rooms.
Parsons Group president Todd Wager said: "Having worked on the Business Bay Bridge and Interchange and other innovative projects in Dubai's Business Bay area, Parsons stands ready to assist Dubai in maintaining its status as the hub of commerce and tourism in the Middle East."
TECOM Investments had previously said in a statement: "D3 aims to harness the elements that distinguish the established creative hubs that have grown organically in the world's leading cities, with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and contemporary facilities that are possible in a purpose-built development.
"This combination will result in a compelling mix of innovation and energising atmosphere set in a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment with modern facilities tailor-made for the resident community."
