Parsons wins infrastructure design and construction contract for Dubai Expo 2020

US engineering, construction and design company Parsons has won the site-wide infrastructure design and construction supervision services contract for the Expo 2020 event, which will be held in Dubai, UAE.

US engineering, construction and design company Parsons has won the site-wide infrastructure design and construction supervision services contract for the Expo 2020 event, which will be held in Dubai, UAE.

To be developed across a 438ha site in the city's Jebel Ali trade centre, the Expo will feature multiple pavilions, souks, and entertainment venues.

Night Expo at the site is expected to be especially interactive with live shade structure screens, as well as planned sound and light shows, and laser displays.

"Our collective efforts will embody Dubai's overall mission to spur innovation, opportunity and connectivity."

Under the terms of the contract, Parsons will be responsible for designing, monitoring, managing, and delivering the project's infrastructure.

Parsons Middle East Africa (MEA) president Gary Adams said: "We are excited that Parsons was selected by Expo 2020 Dubai to help deliver this first-ever global showcase staged in the region.

"Our collective efforts will embody Dubai's overall mission to spur innovation, opportunity and connectivity."

The global mega-event will involve participation from various countries, international organisations and businesses.

The event will extend over six months, from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, and will be held under the theme of 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.'
