Ryan Companies US has completed construction of the $40m Kone Centre in Moline, Illinois, which will serve as the North American headquarters for escalator manufacturer Kone.
Kone Centre is a nine-storey, 121,000ft² building, which will house a commercial office and residential condominium situated within Moline’s Bass Street Landing.
Kone will lease 75,000ft² space of the building and will occupy floors two to six.
The building was developed by Financial District Properties and designed by the architecture firm HOK.
The ground floor will include a restaurant, coffee shop/internet cafe, and a financial service institution.
The first floor will feature an open two-storey lobby and space for a restaurant, while the second and third floors will house light-retail and walk-in service businesses.
The seventh floor will offer 15,000ft² of space for lease by a single user or multiple tenants, while the eighth floor is being designed as residential condominiums.
The upper floors of office space will be occupied by Kone and several other commercial firms.
Adjacent to the office building is a two-level, 202-space car park with space for retail facilities, including a bar and restaurant.
The space will also include amenities to serve the adjacent Bass Street Plaza, where there are plans to operate an ice rink in winter.
Ryan Companies started work on the project in May 2011 and the building has been designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
