Property and infrastructure firm Sweett Group has been selected as project manager by developer CBus Property on the AU$650m ($653m) 1 William Street skyscraper in Brisbane, Australia.
Upon completion, the 258m building will be the second tallest tower in Brisbane.
Planned to be located on the banks of the Brisbane River, the building will be a focal point of the Queensland Government’s masterplan and will house its headquarters.
The building will feature 75,000m² of commercial office space across 41 levels with a total floor area of approximately 120,000m².
Under the deal, Sweett’s team of Brisbane-based consultants will provide a range of project management related services.
Sweett will work on all phases of the development project over the next four years.
After completion, the building is expected to achieve a five-star Greenstar and five-star NABERS rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
Sustainable features of the building include a collaborative central core, which will allow daylight to pass and offer views in 360 degrees, with floor plates ranging from about 1,900m² to 2,100m².
The skygarden and laneway connections through the core provide collaborative space while circulation flows and concentrated spaces will be meant for working.
Sweett Asia Pacific managing director Kim Berry said that 1 William Street is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio which is currently working on developments such as The Shard in London, the CMA Tower in Riyadh and the Wuhan Tower in China.
Construction of the tower is expected to be completed in late 2016.
