A subsidiary of US-based construction firm Tutor Perini, Tutor Perini Building, has been selected as the general contractor for developing two luxury residential towers at Miami Beach in Florida, US.

The contract for the two projects is valued at around $140m.

The first tower will involve redevelopment works to convert it into a 22-unit, ultra-luxury condominium block.

Tutor Perini Building will be responsible for landscaping and modification of the existing 16-storey historic tower, to include all public and back-of-house areas, the spa and fitness centre, and retail stores.

The second tower will be built adjacent to the first, and stand at 18-storeys high.

It will feature 41 luxury residential units, as well as public and back-of-house areas, a spa and fitness centre, a swimming pool and spa pool, decks and landscaping.

Tutor Perini will also develop an onsite underground parking area in the building, which will have room for parking approximately 190 cars.

The firm has already initiated pre-construction works for the development, and following this, construction is expected to start by October.

Tutor Perini is likely to complete substantial works for the luxury developments by the third quarter of 2017.
