Kuwait-based United Real Estate Company (URC) has opened its new project, Salalah Gardens Residences in Oman.
Built at a cost of $77.9m the project is the largest mall in the city, featuring a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment components.
The mall has 86,074m² of built up area including 30,000m² of retail space, a traditional old souq, Salalah’s first three-screen multiplex cinema and parking facilities for over 1,300 vehicles.
Salalah Gardens Mall will host brands including Carrefour, City Cinema, Red Tag, McDonald’s, Fun Station, Nestle Toll House, The Body Shop along with other local, regional brands.
The main hospitality component of the development is Salalah Gardens Residences, a 168-room hotel operated by Safir International Hotel Management Company, a subsidiary of Kuwait Hotels Company.
United Real Estate Company chairman Tariq Mohammad AbdulSalam said, "Our prime objective in developing Salalah Gardens Mall was to create components that complement each other to offer an unprecedented experience which combines entertainment, shopping activities and a comfortable hotel experience".
Founded in 1973 in Kuwait, URC invests in commercial complexes, hotels, resorts, residential buildings, and mixed-use developments.
Operational projects of the company include KIPCO Tower, Marina Mall and Marina Hotel in addition to Saleh Shehab Resort.
