Perth State Government in Australia has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of the city’s waterfront at a total cost of $404m.
The 100,000m² development will include 1,700 apartments, office space and 39,000m² of retail space.
Plans for the first stage also include a jetty with short-term mooring, a waterfront promenade of 15,000m², an island of parks and pedestrian walkways and a number of cafes and bars.
The second stage of the design includes a cable car running from Kings Park to the foreshore and an indigenous centre according to watoday.com.au.
Construction is slated to begin immediately with completion scheduled for 30 months hence.
