Developers Delancey and Essential Land have secured planning consent for a £150m mixed-use development in Dartford, London, UK.

The plans for the Northern Gateway site include up to 1,000 homes and between 27,000ft² and 54,000ft² of offices, shops and restaurants.

Around 80% of the development will be three and four-bedroom houses, with 30% affordable to rent or part-owned houses.

The first phase of the housing development will begin in 2012.

The 33-acre development site was acquired from GlaxoSmithKline for approximately £13m.
