Pepperidge Farm breaks ground on innovation centre in US

The joint venture of Alibaba Group and Marriott International has announced the hotel chain’s facial recognition check-in pilot with Fliggy, Alibaba’s travel service platform.

Pepperidge Farm and Campbell Soup Company have begun construction on a $30m innovation centre in Norwalk, Connecticut, US.

The 34,000ft² innovation centre has been designed by the Dennis Group and Perkins Eastman.

The new facility will include 115,000ft² of office space, meeting rooms, kitchens, research and development plants, scientific labs and a pilot plant with product development and testing lines.

The new centre will include a variety of energy-efficiency, water conservation and daylight harvesting techniques, and recycled building materials will be used for the build.
