Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK) has secured a contract from Msheireb Properties to design the fourth phase of the Msheireb Downtown mixed-use development in Doha, Qatar.

The $5.5bn development includes 135,000m² of mixed-use development spread across 12 buildings that will include commercial, retail, medical office and residential space, as well as a four-star hotel, civic buildings and public spaces.

The Msheireb Downtown project aims to transform the city’s old commercial and business district into a vibrant, cohesive and culturally active city centre.

HOK is targeting a LEED average Gold rating for all components.
