Huaxi Village in east China’s Jiangsu province has completed a 328m skyscraper, Zengdi Kongzhong New Village Tower, which features a statue of an ox made of pure gold.
The 74-storey building has been built at a cost of 3bn yuan ($470m).
Construction on the village tower started in 2007 and it is scheduled to open on 8 October to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the village’s founding.
The building will have 826 rooms and it will give residents an additional 200,000m² of space for their use.
