Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands has submitted its plan for an 58,500m² mixed-use scheme in Greenwich, UK, to sit next to the O2 Arena.

The 3ha scheme will involve a hotel, serviced apartments and an events complex located on the north-western tip of the adjacent Greenwich peninsula.

The project is being delivered by entertainment group and O2 owner AEG Europe.

The scheme received outline planning permission five years ago and is a part of a Terry Farrell master plan for the peninsula, which aims to create 10,000 homes and 29,000 jobs.

The three elements of the scheme have been clustered together to create a building that is a visual contrast to the Richard Rogers-designed O2 arena, formerly known as the Millennium Dome.

The 3,000m² events space will feature a 40m×75m clear-span ballroom, which can be reached though a triple-height glazed reception pavilion.

The 19-storey hotel structure will feature 450 bedrooms.
