This year’s Commonwealth Association of Architects annual event is being hosted by Sri Lanka. Rethinking sustainability will be the theme.

Speaking at the 27th annual general meeting of the Sri Lankan Institute of Architects, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake said they expected the discussion and interaction of their architects with foreign architects to be for mutual benefit, according to dailynews.lk.

“When it comes to building houses, the focus has to be on the affordability of building and maintaining the house,” he said.

“Sri Lanka has a great heritage of architects from ancient times who had a good reputation worldwide where they have built and drawn on our culture, heritage and lifestyle.”
