A consortium of the UK’s top companies, IMMC4, has called on firms from various industries to help build green homes.
Launched in November 2009, AIMC4 said it was looking at a range of industries to source the best innovations and technology and products in the UK and the rest of the world.
The consortium said it hoped to find products from sectors such as aerospace, defence or automotives, which could help the built environment.
Suppliers and inventors are needed to offer expertise in specialist building areas such as heat loss reduction, uncontrolled air leakage, passive solar gain, accuracy in controlling space heating and/or ventilation, and increased efficiency in artificial lighting.
Technology Strategy Board low-impact building innovation platform lead Richard Miller said that AIMC4 was keen to harness the most advanced thinking in a range of areas and encouraged all suppliers, large and small, to get in touch.
