CITIC Group’s CNY24bn ($3.8bn) China Zun tower in Beijing is expected to be complete by the end of 2016.
The 528m-high office tower will occupy an area of 11,478m² and contain 427,000m² of floor space.

The tower will have 108 floors above ground and seven underground and feature an observation deck, club and helipad.
According to CITIC, the building will be shaped like a vase, inspired by an ancient Chinese wine vessel.
The skyscraper will serve as an office building and tourist destination and the top floor will function as a sightseeing platform and cafe, providing visitors with a view of Beijing.
It will incorporate environmentally friendly features that include advanced energy-saving technology.

Design of the building has been inspired by the ancient ritual vessel and adopts many elements from traditional culture, such as the Kongming (floating paper) lamp.
CITIC broke ground on the skyscraper project in September 2011 and won the rights to the land in the district with a bid of 3.6bn yuan ($563m) in December 2010.
Upon completion, China Zun tower will be higher than the nearby China World Trade Center Tower 3, a 330m-tall building that is currently the tallest in Beijing.
