Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding have unveiled Dubai Hills, the first residential project within the UAE’s Mohammed Bin Rashid City (MBR City) development revealed in November 2012.

Dubai Hills will feature villas of approximately 20,000ft² to 30,000ft² to be built around an 18-hole championship golf course.

Planned to be built on an area between Emirates Road and Al Khail Road, Dubai Hills will also feature parks, retail centres, schools and healthcare facilities.

Emaar Properties managing director Ahmad Al Matrooshi said that, as the first project in MBR City, the project will be of the highest quality and design, becoming a referral point for residential lifestyle development.

"By drawing on the strong development competencies, the new residential development will further energise the property sector," Matrooshi said.

The MBR City development will feature a park 30% larger than Hyde Park in London, UK.

Phase one of the project will include a park to host 35 million visitors and a family centre for leisure and entertainment, which is claimed to be largest in the Middle East, Africa region, as well as the Indian subcontinent.

The family centre will be built in collaboration with Universal Studios and will feature more than 100 hotel facilities to meet the needs of visitors from the region.

Phase two will feature Mall of the World, which is claimed to be the largest shopping mall in the world and is expected to attract 80 million visitors per year.

The third phase of the project will include a large area for art galleries and the fourth phase will see the development of an area to offer an environment for entrepreneurship and innovation.

MBR City will also feature the Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens Project, which will be linked to Dubai and Business Bay through a crossing to be named the "Cultural Crossing", which will feature art galleries.

The Dubai Hills development will have easy access to the park and Mall of the World development, as well as all the business and tourism landmarks in the city.
