Salford Council has approved the construction of a 44-storey tower to be built at Exchange Court in the Greengate area near Greater Manchester, UK.

Said to be the new landmark structure in this region, the new structure will be developed by AQ Investments.

It will feature 349 apartments with a lounge, roof garden, gymnasium, 24/7 concierge and basement parking for residents.

OMI Architects have designed the Exchange Court, which is scheduled for construction this June and expected to complete by 2018.

A part of the Renaker Build Group of companies, AQ Investments has undertaken construction work of 1,600 apartments across four sites, including Greengate, Cambridge Street, Regent Road and Wilburn Basin in Salford and Manchester.

"We are fully committed to the redevelopment of the wider Greengate area and further regeneration and development is planned moving forward."

Renaker Build head of sales Andy Finch said: "We are obviously delighted to have obtained the planning consent for this, our latest development and our second within Greengate.

"Exchange Court has been designed with a broad range of apartment types which will attract a vibrant and diverse range of occupiers, keen to interact with the growing population in the area, creating a sense of place and community."

Renaker also have proposals for a major residential-led scheme on the 1.5ha Owen Street site in central Manchester, which includes around 1,400 apartments across four buildings with extensive residents’ amenities, according to Manchester Evening News.
