Skanska has secured a €36m contract to construct the Green Court Bucharest office project in Bucharest, Romania.
The project will be developed on a 15,000m² plot on Gara Herastrau street, adjacent to the Aurel Vlaicu metro station in the north part of Bucharest.
Skanska, which acquired the plot in November 2012, has invested €46m in the first building of the project and the investment comprises of project phase one and the garage for phase two.
Skanska Commercial Development, through its subsidiaries Skanska Property Romania and Skanska Construction Romania, will carry out the construction works.
The company said that order booking and revenue for the contract will be included in the first quarter of 2013 revenue.
Phase one of the project will feature a 19,500m² underground garage and the office scheme will include three buildings.
The total leasable area of the complex will be approximately 52,000m², with twelve storeys above ground level and three storeys underground.
Green Court Bucharest will feature a number of sustainable elements to minimise the building’s environmental footprint and reduce operating costs.
Construction on the project is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2013 and complete in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Upon completion, the development is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
