Since Kathryn Dalgleish, Swisspacer’s marketing and sales manager for the UK and Ireland, took the position at the beginning of the year, activity has been non-stop. As well as developing relationships with direct customers, Kathryn has been working with the distribution partners, Magden, DGS/Solutions UK and National Seal to facilitate the strong sales growth that these companies are achieving.
Kathryn said: “These first six months have been a phenomenal success in terms of overall sales growth. Sales will reach 300% of 2008 by the end of July. Many companies have now taken the decision to use Swisspacer for their warm edge solution, some of whom are new to warm edge technology, with many others switching from alternative warm edge spacers.
“Taking up this newly created position with Swisspacer was perfect timing for all concerned. The warm edge market is growing fast as people become more aware of window energy ratings (WERs). Swisspacer is ideally placed to help sealed unit manufacturers and fabricators benefit from the opportunity and give their business a boost. In the downturn, most companies don’t have surplus funds to invest in expensive sealed unit machinery. And one of Swisspacer’s biggest advantages is that no investment is required. Sealed unit manufacturers can use their existing machinery to make the most thermally efficient sealed units and help fabricators achieve the best WERs ratings. Not having to wait for new machinery also means the switch to warm edge is faster and smoother.”
